Latest Updates from Our Project:

We are going to proceed with redoing the tooling..
over 6 years ago – Tue, Nov 14, 2017 at 10:49:39 PM

Hey Everyone,

Based on the overwhelming response from the last update, we are going to spend the time to retool figures to adjust the scale. As we mentioned this will delay the fulfillment a few months. I think everyone will be pleased with the final outcome. Thanks again for taking the time to leave the feedback.

I did want to answer some questions from a few backers..

Q: I'm worried about the "diaper crotch". Can these guys put their legs completely forward? Can they sit down with their legs straight?
A: Yes,the figure can put their legs completely forward, I'm however in my mid 40s and are not a flexible as I once was, so I do suffer from "diaper crotch.

Q: What about the playsets delivery schedule?
A: The play sets are still on track, but will ship when the figures ship. Here are some in progress images D&J toys sent our way.

Q: "Redo the tooling"?!! The whole figure or just those parts you mention? Are you lengthening the torso? Legs? arms? In any case, that's no inexpensive undertaking. How are you paying for that?
A: Yes, the whole figure. We are paying for it ourselves. We also understand they the delay makes all of us sad…so although we can’t fold time, we are going to send along an additional freebie to backers when the orders ship.

Q: And one last favor to ask. Is it possible to post a picture of the EF posters with a prototype or other figure standing in front of it just to get an idea of the scale look for using it as a background display?
A: I’ll try to do that. I will say the posters are 18x24 so it’s very large next to the figures.

Q: Also, would you consider re-opening pre-orders if everything gets re-tooled?
A: Yes, we are going to open up pre-oders again so folks can add figures if they would like.

Q:How much would the change effect EF Wave 2, Amazing Heroes, and Larry Hama in terms of initial KS offering and/or the delivery time line?
A: We will not launch any additional waves of EF until orders are shipped. This does effect the Larry Figure, so we’ll be updating that campaign as well. I have licensing agreements in place for Amazing Heroes, so that changes things a bit as far as scheduling.

Q: Also, the ankles are plain ugly. I can wait for the retooling if it means a better overall product.
A: We are removing the ball from the ankle on the boots as we are re-doing the tooling. We’ll still have rocker ankles.

Q: I'm really enjoying all the new characters you've added to your universe. Is the ninja lady's name Keiko Savitar? Or is the guy to her right another version of Savitar?
A: Keiko Savitar is the daughter of Savitar, the ninja from the 80’s line who is now in his 80s, has lost an eye, walks with a cane and has a pet koala.

Q: When is the digital handbooks coming out?
A: Soon we are almost done. I just need to write the front inside cover and fix a couple of the bios.

Thanks again everyone and keep those questions coming.
Should I do an Kickstarter live? I’m not great in front of the camera, but I’d be happy to do it if folks want it. Let me know.

Designer Con update…and we need your feedback, so please comment below.
over 6 years ago – Tue, Nov 14, 2017 at 12:08:44 AM

Hey Eagle Force Team

We just got back from Designer Con in Los Angeles. It’s an amazing show! If are in the LA area next November please check it out.

We revealed a few characters for Eagle Force Wave 2…Wave 2 will include characters from Eagle Force, Heroes vs Villains and Monster Force. Agent Vess and General Mamba were big hits at the show. Agent Vess might have something to do with a familiar 80's line we’re going to reboot in 2019.

We also showed our concepts for Eagle Force: Ninja Force. This is not a 100% all out ninja line but more my tribute to 80’s action movies. That said Hasbro has given us a few ninjas over the years, so I want to know if folks are interested in something like this before we move ahead into sculpting some figures. For those Savitar fans, you’ll be happy.

We also got to show folks our tooling samples for Eagle Force Wave 1 displayed on the R.I.O.T. hideout by D&J Toys

In non Eagle Force news we showed some image of our relaunch of Amazing Heroes, our 1/18th super heroes line, along with a few prototypes.

Here are some images from the show.

Here is the part in the update where I need your feedback.

As some of you know Zica/Remco toys, who is partnering with us on Eagle Force, canceled their Adventure People line. As we are sharing this tooling for Eagle Force, Craig at Zica/Remco was kind enough not to go into specific details with his messaging. So naturally folks are asking “Why did he cancel?” Well, as we feel transparency is key with Kickstarter, we felt we should let you know. It was primarily about scale. Although still very much 1/18th, the Eagle Force figures are a bit shorter than other popular figures in the market, as you can see by these images.

There were also a few minor imperfections in the tooling, like the shoulders are a tad rounded and after many months the ankle ball never really looked the way we intended. Craig was not willing to compromise on these points, so he decided to cancel the Adventure People and offer refunds out of his own pocket. I was willing to go with the current scale and deal with these minor issues in order to stay on target for our original delivery in late March.

After a long discussion with Craig and getting some feedback at Designer Con from fans, we decided this is not really up to us. It’s up to YOU…the community that came together to bring Eagle Force back to life.

We have the opportunity to redo the tooling, fix the scale and adjust some minor issues, but this will push us 3-4 months behind schedule and we won’t deliver till summer 2018. It’s important to keep in mind that this tooling will be used in future lines as well, see above, so it does have a broad and lasting impact. If we do retool, Craig is considering reversing his thinking and moving ahead with Captain Action, so there is that as well. We would prefer to redo the tooling and adjust the scale, but we wanted to get as much feedback as we could so we can make the best informed decision.

Like all Kickstarters, this is process, so we hope everyone understands that although we’re not Hasbro or Mattel, we are committed to making the best toys possible. we'll be posting this on Facebook but please share your comments below, as this is really a question for the backers.

Thanks everyone!

Tooling and Packaging images...plus Designer Con info.
over 6 years ago – Sat, Nov 04, 2017 at 09:40:59 PM

Hey Everyone...

Sorry about the delay in updates. We've been finalizing the tooling of the figures with the factory. Here are some images. Unfortunately the pastic the factory used if very light so they are hard to photograph.

A couple of small fixes left to do, but we're going to move on to the painted sample phase of production. I hope to have some images of the paint figures by December.

The Kickstarter assortment of figures will be broken up in waves of 8. Here is the art for wave 1.

We'll be at Designer Con in Pasadena ,CA on Nov 11-12. Please stop by the booth, we'll have the Eagle Force and Larry Hama prototypes at the show, along with some reveals for Wave 2 of Eagle Force, which will include character from Eagle Force, Monster Force and Heroes vs Villains.  We'll also have the 18x24 Eagle Force island poster..both the "Standard Edition" and the limited edition "Attack on Eagle Island" poster for sale.

These will be available on our website after the show. Plus we'll have a few sets of The Drawn Word's Eagle Force Trading Cards if you missed on their Kickstarter.

Thanks

Bill

Tooling update, comics, posters, packaging and more
over 6 years ago – Sat, Aug 05, 2017 at 10:47:04 PM

Hey everyone,

Things have been progressing at the factory. We've gotten some images of the tooling I wanted to share.

Still a lot of final tweaks to be made to get the figures right, but very fun to see. We should have fully assemebled samples in hand in 2 weeks.

We're working on the card art for packaging. Per fan feedback these will be traditional card backs, but collector friendly, so you can remove your figure. Here are some images, BIG thanks to Jason Bienvenu for moving these forward. These are more conceptual and not final, but they are headed in the right direction for sure.

We've also started to run a 18 part Eagle Force weekly comic strip. It's posted on Facebook every Wednesday. Eagle Force Returns Volume 01" Shattered Piece" is written by Justin Bell and Illustrated by Ryan Lord. Here are the pages we've posted so far. Please follow us on Facebook for the latest updates.

We're also working on a interconnected Eagle Force Universe poster series. Here is a very early preview.

Each poster covers a different era in the Eagle Force time line. For example:

  • Liberty League: A team of super powered humans that formed during the early days of World War II to help defend freedom and defeat C.L.A.W. (Crime, Lawlessness, Anarchy & Warfare) a global subversive organization dedicated to world domination.
  • Eagle Force '42: The original Eagle Force Team, formed by Sgt. Eagle to lead the global war effort and defeat the Axis Powers, including C.L.A.W.
  • Eagle Force '81: The Eagle Force team, lead by Sgt. Eagle's son, Captain Eagle to defeat General Mamba and R.I.O.T. (Roving International Organization of Tyranny).
  • Eagle Force Mega: In the early 90's Goldie Hawk reunites Eagle Force as a Top-Secret American strike force to fight the reborn evil of R.I.O.T. ( Robotic International Organization of Terror) in both outer and cyber space.
  • Eagle Force Monster Force: General Brown recruits Declan Van Helsing to uncover the secrets behind the super natural threat of the Forgotten King.
  • Eagle Force Returns: Captain Eagle comes out of retirement in 2015 to form a team of new recruits when R.I.O.T. reforms, now lead by the mysterious Ultima Thule.
  • Eagle Force Heroes vs Villains: Special Agent Vess recruits a team of heroes to fight evil on the streets across America.

Thanks for the support everyone! We're looking forward to getting these figures in your hands early next year.

Bill and Craig

We leave you with the Sgt. Bulldog entry, written by Justin Bell, from the upcoming Eagle Force Handbook.

Real Name: Ryan Bronski
Birthplace: Camden, Alabama
Military Specialty: Staff Sergeant

Ryan Bronski grew up in poverty, learning the hard way that nothing came easy and if you wanted to get ahead in life, you had to be willing to put in the work. His parents instilled an aggressive work ethic in the young man at an early age, encouraging him to get a paper route, bag groceries, and do other small jobs in order to earn his own money and pay his own way. By the time he was fourteen years old, he’d saved up enough money to get a new bike, but he continued saving until his sixteenth birthday and bought himself a beat up used Buick instead.

Bronski lived and died for that car, spending many hours fixing it himself, souping it up and taking his friends on countless joyrides through the rural back roads of his Alabama home. As he neared high school graduation, he spoke to his parents about where he wanted to go to college, and while his grades were good, they weren’t quite good enough, and once again, the Bronski family just couldn’t quite pay the bills. Disappointed, but not discouraged, Bronski elected instead to sign up for the United States Army, intending to use the G.I. Bill to pay for school and work his way into one of the many skilled factory jobs that littered the countryside around his home.

But something funny happened. He loved the Army and the Army loved him. His drive, determination, and discipline earned him a lot of respect among his peers, and his sense of not being afraid to get his hands dirty earned him the reputation of being a “doer” not a “teller”. Bronski formed quick bonds with most of those he ran into, and had the unique capacity to mold undisciplined soldiers into a team that would at the very least follow his lead.

After being promoted to Sergeant, Bronski ended up in Germany, first running into Sergeant Brown and heard about a group of troublemaking soldiers who frustrated their superior officers to the point that four of them were on the verge of involuntary discharge or other corrective action. Bronski asked that they be given one more chance, and Brown agreed, but on one condition - Bronski himself would have to take them under his wing.

He agreed, and the soon to be infamous Bulldog Brigade was born.

Shortly after forming this ragtag “Bulldog Brigade”, a terrorist attack rocked Berlin, and Bronski was forced to take his team into action. They succeeded where even the German KSK could not that day and immediately began developing the reputation of the Bulldog Brigade.

Soon earning the nickname Sergeant Bulldog, Bronski had a knack for finding the problem children and bonding with them, bringing them into his own personalized Bulldog Brigade, a slowly growing group of highly trained, but poorly disciplined soldiers. Under Bronski’s guidance, the Brigade was able to sharpen their discipline and even further enhance their training, growing into a truly formidable team of operatives.

It was also in Germany where Sergeant Bulldog met Churchill, an abandoned bulldog who he took under his wing, thinking that it was fate that brought the animal to him right as he was forming up this Bulldog Brigade.

Once their initial training in Germany was done, Sergeant Brown was so impressed by how well they worked as a team, he suggested they get sent to where the real problems were and a week later they were on a transport to Afghanistan, Churchill and all. Over the next several years, Sergeant Bulldog and his Bulldog Brigade performed many operations, covert and otherwise, executing them to near perfection with an unheard of success rate, capturing Taliban leaders, halting suicide bombers and effectively cleansing an entire region of the war-torn nation. Brown and Bronski formed a close friendship themselves, and although Brown had little love for some of the individual personalities that made up the Bulldog Brigade, he couldn’t argue with their results.

After two tours in the Middle East, Sergeant Bronski became a liaison working directly with the Army Rangers, and the entire Brigade essentially formed into a Ranger detachment, operating within the realm of Special Forces in various operations throughout the region. At this point the lack of discipline the Brigade had been known for was a long distance memory, and the team was seen as the tip of the spear of many deep recon and military operations behind enemy lines.

Three tours later, Sergeant Bulldog and his Brigade were sent back to the United States for some well-earned rest and relaxation just in time for R.I.O.T. to rear their ugly heads and turn the world on its ear. It didn’t take long for Sergeant Brown to reach out to Bronski and ask him to be his right hand man and to bring his unique team with him. Bronski agreed, but on one condition - Churchill had to come, too. Together, Brown and Bronski began the process of reforming the world renowned Eagle Force team.

Now, not only are the existing Bulldogs part of Eagle Force’s renowned field operations team, but Sergeant Bulldog himself has a hand in training and developing combat readiness protocols for the entire team, helping to build the backbone of Eagle Force’s ever-growing military operation in the face of worldwide terrorism.

Tooling update, Wave 2 preview…and cards or boxes?
almost 7 years ago – Mon, Jun 12, 2017 at 12:00:08 AM

Hey everyone!

We’ve begun our tooling phase for the figures…here are a few images.

Just a bunch of steel blocks…I know it doesn’t look very exciting but we’ll be using these steel tools for a while so it’s a thrill for us to see them. The tools will take about a month to finalize then we should start seeing samples toward the end of July…we’ll be sure to share images of those as soon as we get them.

We’re also working up the design for the packaging. We were originally planning on doing boxes for the line but we’ve been toying with the idea of collector friendly card backs..like our Amazing Heroes line. If we go this route it would look something like this. Post a comment and let us know what you think. Do you think this is a better direction?

Also we wanted to share a couple of reveals for our Eagle Force Wave 2 kickstarter that we plan to launch in early 2018 once we’ve shipped the Wave 1 figures to the Kickstarter backers. Wave 2 will have characters from Eagle Force, Monster Force and Eagle Force: Heroes vs Villains. Here are a couple Eagle Force reveals…these are early work in progress images.

We’re looking forward to getting Wave 2 off the ground early next year.

Also, if you need your Eagle Force fix The Drawn Word is at it again with a Goldie Hawk photo card set….that’s right photo cards.

The Goldie Hawk pack follows Goldie's secret solo mission from 1987. Goldie races to answer a distress beacon from an abandoned R.I.O.T. laboratory in Germany. Who and what she encounters will play out in Eagle Force Mega and Eagle Force Returns! …wait did I just mention Eagle Force Mega…wonder what that is? If this kickstarter hits it’s final stretch goal you’ll find out.

Thanks again for the support everyone.
